Refund policy

Last updated: 19 September 2026

This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

Lyricly offers a free plan and two paid subscriptions, Pro and Premium, monthly or yearly (see pricing). Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider: it executes the refunds described here, to the original payment method.

1. Cancel at any time

You can cancel your subscription whenever you wish, without giving a reason, from My account → “Manage subscription”, which opens the Stripe portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: you keep your plan and your quota until then, after which your account goes back to Free. No further charge is made.

Cancelling deletes neither your account nor your songs. For that, use “Delete my account” on the same page — which cancels the subscription first.

2. Refund within 14 days

If you have just taken out a paid subscription for the first time and it doesn't suit you, write to us within 14 days of the first payment: we refund it in full, whether the subscription is monthly or yearly.

This period matches the withdrawal right of European Union consumers (article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code). As the service is available immediately after payment, by subscribing you agree that it starts before the end of this period; we nevertheless choose to refund in full during these 14 days, with no deduction for usage.

This guarantee applies to an account's first subscription. It is not renewed if you subscribe again after cancelling.

3. After 14 days and renewals

After this period, and for each renewal (monthly or yearly), amounts paid are not refunded: cancel before the renewal date to avoid being charged. That date is shown in the Stripe portal and on My account.

We do, however, refund at any time in the following cases:

  • Billing error — double charge, amount different from the displayed price, charge after cancellation.
  • Service unavailable — an outage on our side prevented you from using the subscription for a significant part of the period.
  • Legal obligation — any case where the law of your country requires a refund.

4. Changing plan

  • Upgrading (Pro → Premium, or monthly → yearly) takes effect immediately. Stripe calculates the difference pro rata for the remaining days: you only pay the top-up.
  • Downgrading (Premium → Pro) also takes effect immediately. The unused part of the previous plan is carried by Stripe as a credit on your next invoices; it is not refunded.
  • Unused songs from the monthly quota are neither refunded nor carried over to the next month.

5. Free plan

The Free plan involves no payment and requires no credit card: nothing to refund, nothing to cancel.

6. How to request a refund

  1. Write to contact@lyricly-music.com from your account's email address, stating the payment date (or the Stripe invoice number).
  2. We reply within 2 business days.
  3. Once granted, the refund is executed by Stripe to the original payment method. It usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Your invoices and receipts remain downloadable at any time from “Manage subscription”.

7. Changes

This policy may evolve. The date at the top of the page indicates the last revision; the applicable terms are those in force on the date of your payment.
